JOB DESCRIPTION

Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 19-year-old male student and a wheelchair user who in September will be starting a 3-year course at the University of South Wales in Cardiff. I will be living in shared flat in student accommodation near to the university during term time.

 

PURPOSE OF JOB

To support with a range of domestic chores including cooking, cleaning and shopping.

 

PLACE OF WORK

Central Cardiff: In a student flat in a central Cardiff student residence as well as the surrounding area e.g. going to local shops.

 

 

HOURS OF WORK

12 regular hours during university term time, within normal working hours and on weekdays. The ability to occasionally work extra hours outside  of these hours at short notice (should the need arise) would also be desirable. Position starts early-mid September.

 

A regular working week:

 

12 - 3  Monday

9 -12 Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

RATE OF PAY

£10.40 per hour

TASKS INVOLVED

Domestic chores: preparing meals, washing clothes and cleaning, collecting shopping from local area. Occasionally other tasks as arise.

 

 TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

Someone friendly, flexible and sensitive to the fact they will be supporting an individual living in a shared student flat environment.

 

 ABOUT THE JOB

 

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A probation period will be necessary in the first instance.  Wages will be paid 4 weekly.  You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
