Personal Assistants

 

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

 

I am a 77 year old woman who is a retired NHS employee living in the Barry area. I value my independence and enjoy having a good support network around me. Due to several long-term health conditions, including Fibromyalgia and mobility difficulties, I need practical assistance with day-to-day tasks and personal care.

 

Although I use an electric wheelchair and require support with mobility and transfers, I like to remain as active and involved in my daily life as possible. Having the right person supporting me makes a huge difference to my wellbeing.

 

I am looking for someone trustworthy, compassionate, and dependable who can become an important part of my support team.

 

 

PURPOSE OF JOB

 

 

I currently have a team of carers to support me at home to remain as independent and safe as possible. We are looking for another PA to join my team.

 

 

PLACE OF WORK

 

Based at my home in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan.

 

 

HOURS OF WORK

 

16 hours per week (Monday–Thursday, 3pm–7pm)

 

 

RATE OF PAY

 

£15.10 per hour plus double pay on Bank Holidays

 

Full training and support provided where needed

 

 

TASKS INVOLVED

 

  • Preparing meals and drinks
  • Light household cleaning and general domestic duties
  • Personal care support
  • Assisting with mobility and transfers when required
  • Supporting with everyday administration, including going to the post office
  • Providing reassurance and companionship when needed
  • Helping me maintain a safe, comfortable, and independent lifestyle

ABOUT THE JOB

 

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
