(required): Job CentreIf you are applying for a position as a Micro Enterprise Carer, please enter your business name:: I confirm that I have the right to work in the UK and am able to prove my eligibility status when required to do so. (required): Yes Please read the Job Description carefully before providing information in this Section of the Application Form. Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): My most relevant experience comes from 10 years as a Teaching Instructor, where I worked closely and patiently with individuals on a one-to-one basis, adapting my approach to suit each persons needs, pace and circumstances. This has developed in me a calm, gentle and attentive working style — qualities that are especially important in a home environment with an infant present. Throughout my career in teaching, warehouse operations and engineering, I have consistently demonstrated reliability, punctuality and the ability to use my initiative when working independently. I understand how to follow direction carefully, complete tasks to a high standard, and maintain a professional, discreet manner at all times. I am comfortable working in a domestic home environment, carrying out practical tasks such as cooking, tidying and running errands. I am also physically capable and happy to receive training in safe baby handling techniques, which I would take very seriously given the importance of the infants safety and wellbeing. What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I believe the following qualities are essential in this role: Kindness and gentleness — Working in someones home, particularly with a new baby present, requires a soft, warm and considerate approach that keeps the environment calm and stress-free at all times. Reliability and initiative — As a relief PA covering sick and annual leave, it is especially important to be dependable at short notice and able to step in smoothly without disrupting the clients established routine. Discretion and confidentiality — Working within someones private home and family life requires complete trustworthiness and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times. Patience and the ability to follow direction — The client knows her own needs and routines best. A good PA listens carefully, follows instructions precisely and never imposes their own way of doing things. Sensitivity to fluctuating needs — Conditions affecting energy and pain levels can vary from day to day. A PA must be adaptable and responsive, adjusting the level of support provided based on how the client is feeling on any given day. How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I would contribute by providing steady, reliable and practical support that reduces the clients physical strain and allows her to focus her limited energy on what matters most — including caring for and enjoying time with her baby. I would approach every task with care and attentiveness — whether safely handling the baby, sterilising equipment, batch cooking meals, or running a quick errand — ensuring that everything is done to the clients preferred standard. I understand that maintaining a calm, organised home environment is particularly important when a new baby is involved, and I would work quietly and efficiently to uphold that. I am comfortable working to a persons direction without needing constant supervision, and I would always check in with the client before making any decisions about how a task should be done. Supporting her independence means making sure she remains in control of her home and her choices, while I handle the physical tasks that would otherwise exhaust or aggravate her condition. What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): What appeals to me most about PA work is the genuine human connection and the meaningful impact it has on a real persons daily life. Unlike many jobs where results are abstract or distant, PA work allows you to see directly how your support makes someones day easier, safer and more comfortable — and that is something I find deeply rewarding. This particular role appeals to me because it combines practical household and care tasks with the sensitive responsibility of supporting a new mum during what can be an incredibly demanding period. The opportunity to provide reliable relief cover — stepping in when needed and making a real difference at short notice — is something I feel well-suited to given my flexible availability and dependable nature. I am also drawn to working in a home environment where trust and personal connection are at the heart of the role. I take that responsibility seriously and would always strive to be a calm, reassuring and professional presence. What are your hobbies/interests? (required): In my spare time I enjoy exploring new places and roaming around Cardiff and beyond, which keeps me active and open-minded. I am a keen sports fan — particularly football and cricket — and I enjoy watching films and dramas to unwind. I am a naturally curious and sociable person who enjoys learning new things, which means I would approach the baby handling training and any other new skills required in this role with genuine enthusiasm and commitment. I am also comfortable around animals and would have no issue being around the clients two cats during working hours. Would you consider a casual position if you are unsuccessful with this job?
