(required): “I think the most important qualities when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person are patience, kindness, and respect. It is important to treat the person with dignity and always support their independence as much as possible. Good communication is also very important, so you can understand their needs and preferences clearly. Reliability and honesty are essential because the person depends on you for daily support. I also think being flexible, calm under pressure, and able to follow instructions carefully are important qualities to provide safe and effective care. How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): can contribute to the needs and independence of a disabled person by providing respectful and person-centred support. I would listen carefully to their preferences and follow their care plan to make sure their daily needs are met safely and correctly. I would encourage them to do as much as they can for themselves, offering support only when needed, so they can maintain and build their independence. I would also help with daily tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, mobility, and any other support required. What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): What appeals to me about PA (Personal Assistant) work is the opportunity to support people in their daily lives and help them live more independently. I enjoy caring for others and making a positive difference in someone’s life. I like that the role is person-centred, where I can build a good relationship with the individual and support their personal needs and choices with respect and dignity. I also find it rewarding to help someone feel more confident, comfortable, and independent while ensuring they are safe and well cared for.” What are your hobbies/interests? (required): In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially caring for my baby and supporting my home life. I also enjoy listening to music, including Somali music and English pop music, as it helps me relax. I like learning new things and improving my skills, such as practising English.
