Personal Assistant/ Travel Buddy

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am an engaging 21 year old young man with a learning disability.

I have many interests which include, cars, mechanics, farming, animals and politics.

I can be very reluctant and anxious to access the community. I require someone who understands my needs and has a willingness to learn how to respond to me and persuade me to engage in activities.

 

PURPOSE OF JOB

Support worker needed for travel support for 21 yr old young man to and from Pencoed campus Bridgend college from Cardiff. 

 

PLACE OF WORK

In my home and out in the community.

 

HOURS OF WORK

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 

Mornings 7.30-9.00 

Afternoons 16.00 - 18.00 

RATE OF PAY

£12.35 PER HOUR.

TASKS INVOLVED

To enable me to access the community.

Meal preparation/ cooking skills.

To assist me with possibly accessing work experience.

  

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

Someone who is patient and friendly.

Car driver is preferred.

Someone who has knowledge of learning disabilities is desired but not essential.

 

ABOUT THE JOB

 Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A probation period will be necessary in the first instance.  Wages will be paid 4 weekly.  You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
