Yours faithfully Dewis Centre for Independent Living Ref: CDP JOB DESCRIPTION Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a 16yr old boy living with my parents and siblings in the Ely area of Cardiff. I have learning disabilities and have limited verbal communication. I can say yes or no to make my wishes known. I have 4.5hrs a week available for me to go out and about with a like-minded individual, ideally with similar leisure interests. I like football, gaming, swimming, shopping and bowling. I'm keen to be outdoors as much as possible. Having support from my family is new so I'm keen to get to know you and build things up slowly. PURPOSE OF JOB To help access the community, giving my parents a break as well as me having a break from them! I would like to do fun things when working together. PLACE OF WORK From home and out and about in the community. HOURS OF WORK I have 4.5hrs a week of support agreed, which I need to use flexibly. Ideally. RATE OF PAY £15.65 per hour. TASKS INVOLVED ● to drive planned places of choice ● To with outings on foot, to observe and if possible participate in activities such as walking and swimming. ● Social calls. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Essential qualities Reliable and punctual. Able to respect my privacy and confidentiality. Have common sense and initiative. Willing to learn about my needs and care wishes Fun and outgoing individual Full driving licence and own car with business insurance Flexible and adaptable to meet my needs. Desirable qualities ● Similar leisure interests. ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
