CDP399 Personal Assistant to Child Quote ref: CDP399 on application form Apply now JOB DESCRIPTION 2 x Personal Assistant GENERAL INFORMATION A personal assistant is required to provide support to a 16 year old young man who has autism and learning disabilities living in the Rhiwbina area. The personal assistant will provide opportunities to enable the individual to engage in varied activities such as swimming, ten-pin bowling, trampolining etc. Must be a car driver and have business insurance. The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds. HOURS OF WORK 13 hours per week: 6 hours - Sundays (Flexible) 3 hours - Monday 3 - 6pm4 hours - Friday 3 - 7 pm Hours to be split between 2 PA's. RATE OF PAY £10.30 per hour TASKS CAN INCLUDE To support and engage in activities as required. To encourage opportunities for social interaction. To promote independence. To ensure the young person is safe at all times whilst out and about. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Caring, friendly, and chatty. Responsible and reliable. Must be honest and trustworthy. Must have full enhanced up to date DBS check. Must have experience of working with young people with autism and learning disabilities. Car owner and class one business use. ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
