What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I believe being kind , compassionate and caring are among the obvious qualities that are required from a PA but also being able to find a way to communicate with them at a level that they understand whilst also feel respected is my main focus.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I have both assisted and taught independent living skills at Cardiff and Vale College and Itec Skills that I’d be able to use in my day to day with the young people. I also LOVE anything creative and so I’d be happy to do things like this with them.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): To be completely honest I’m just excited about being able to just use my skills to help young people become a little more independent. I will proactively ensure that each session I have with the service users are properly planned and the time we have together is used to enrich them.
