Part-time Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

We are two brothers living in the Ton Pentre area. I am the eldest at 15 years old and my brother is 10 years old. I have a diagnosis of ASD, dyspraxia and learning difficulties. My brother has a diagnosis of ASD. I enjoy eating, Xbox and rugby. My brother enjoys roblox, dinosaurs and mythical creatures.

PURPOSE OF JOB

To provide us with the opportunity to access activities in the community and to encourage our independence. Support will be needed out in the community weather permitted and within our home.

HOURS OF WORK

3 hours term time and 6 hours non term time (These hours apply to each child individually )

Hours to be shared with another PA

RATES OF PAY

£13.30 per hour

TASKS INVOLVED

·        To help us be as independent as possible

·        Accompany us to do things we enjoy

·        Be patient with us when we try and express ourselves

·        Encouragement so that we are not so isolated 

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

·        Someone reliable and punctual

·        Someone outgoing and patient

·        Experience of children with additional needs

·        Ensuring our safety is a priority at all times

·        Someone who is happy to encourage our interaction & independence

·        Driver needed, access to own car with business class insurance in place

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).

The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK.
