JOB DESCRIPTION 

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 34 year old woman living in the Llantwit Fardre area. I am a very friendly and easy going person who enjoys getting out into the community to take part in social activities. 

I have a diagnosis of epilepsy and learning disabilities which mainly effect my communication skills.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To help me to enter the community and take part in social activities. 

HOURS OF WORK

5 hours per week available to be used:

Tuesday – 5 hours – 10:30am to 3:30pm

RATES OF PAY 

Meets National Minimum wage

40p per mile where applicable

TASKS CAN INCLUDE

  • Taking me to the group I attend on Tuesday and staying with me while I am there.
  • Taking me out one other day per week – This can be to the cinema, the beach when the weather is nice or any other social activity I want to do.
  • Keeping me safe while we are out.

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

  • Someone with patience and someone willing to build a relationship with me.
  • A driver with business class insurance would be essential.
  • Experience working with epilepsy would be desirable.
  • A reliable and punctual person.
  • A kind and friendly person.
  • A person who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else’s home.

ABOUT THE JOB

This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period of six months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four-weekly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living.  You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay. This post is subject to an enhanced police check (DBS) and training may be required if identified by the employer.
