Advocacy

We will make sure that people are heard, and their rights are respected We will communicate effectively and safely meet with people in person We will ensure that people can access advocacy We will take positive anti-discrimination action We will work together to promote systemic change


Dewis CIL provides a number of advocacy services across Wales, which range from
Independent Professional Advocacy (in line with the Social Services and Wellbeing Act 2014),
Community Advocacy, through to Peer and Self-Advocacy support.
All of our advocacy services provide high quality and totally free advocacy support for those who are eligible .

    I am a 37 year old woman living in the Barry area. I love acting and attend Hijinx theatre in Cardiff. I am very independent and manage all of my own care and support needs. PURPOSE OF THE JOB To help support and provide me with company when out in the community. HOURS OF WORK 6 hours a week to be used flexibly.  RATES OF PAY  £11.00 per hour.

    I am a 15 year old boy with Autism. I live in Aberdare with my family. Although my verbal communication skills are good, I do have some difficulty with instructions. I enjoy listening to music, particularly the charts and watching MTV. I also love watching quiz shows. In the summer time I like going to the caravan with my family and going for walks. HOURS OF WORK  8 ¼ hours per week during term-time 9 hours per week during non-term-time RATE OF PAY  £ 11.50 per hour including mileage

    I am a 77 year old lady living in the Barry area who has spent a long time as a house wife whilst my husband worked. I have been married for 35 years. Although I have always looked after other people, I don’t always remember to look after myself I have 11.5 hours per week available.  I would need someone to come every day but specific hours can be worked out together. RATES OF PAY £11.00 per hour

    I am a friendly lady living with my 2 sons in the Cowbridge area.  I have M.E and so am therefore looking to employ a Personal Assistant to assist me at home with day to day tasks enabling me to remain independence. My condition fluctuates a lot. 5 hours per week contracted with the possibility of more if I have appointments, which can be discussed at interview up to 10 hours per week RATES OF PAY £11.30 per hour
