Rights2What is Advocacy?

Advocacy means to speak up for someone.
Advocacy is about making sure that people’s voices are heard and listened to.
It’s about helping people to make their own choices in life.
It provides people with the chance to be as independent as they want to be.

Dewis Centre for Independent Living has a well-established advocacy service with experienced and  trained advocacy caseworkers. We are able to offer advocacy in several ways to a variety of people in a number of circumstances and we are completely independent.

At Dewis we currently provide independent advocacy, self advocacy, peer advocacy and citizen advocacy in various areas.
