I have Multiple Sclerosis which limits my mobility. I am happy and outgoing and I enjoy getting out and about socially. I enjoy eating out, going to the cinema, visiting museums and I also enjoy the great outdoors. I am looking for someone proactive to help me find new hobbies and someone who can think outside the box to support me. PURPOSE OF JOB I am looking for a permanent PA who will be committed for long term employment. The purpose of the job is to support me with my social activities and personal care- I am happy for a male or female PA. There will also be times when I am unable to go out and then light domestic tasks and meal preparation support will be required. PLACE OF WORK At my home and in and around the Cardiff area HOURS OF WORK 9.5 hours per week / over 1 - 2 shifts, but this can change RATE OF PAY £15.45 per hour plus mileage where applicable TASKS INVOLVED To accompany me on hospital and dentist visits. To provide suitable transport for social outings. (e.g. own car with suitable boot space for wheelchair or rollator) Support with occasional personal care Going to the accessible gym with me in Llanishen which is called Better gym To go into the pool with me and help me in and out of my rollator Assisting me in changing room before and after swimming Preparing drinks, meals and snacks when required Light domestic assistance around my flat Get rollator into boot of car TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED You must be proactive, think on your feet and be able to hit the ground running Someone with a good sense of humour and able to have a laugh with trivial things Considerate, outgoing and kind Someone who has experience with an auto-immune condition Work on your own initiative – if you see a task needs doing, get on with it without having to have guidance all the time A mature and sensible person ABOUT THE JOB This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority. All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins. Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period. Wages will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
