A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

 

I’m a 25-year-old male living at home in Penylan and, despite having quadriplegic cerebral palsy, I enjoy a full, active and happy life.

My interests include music, theatre, concerts, watching football, surfing the internet and writing.

I love to laugh and have fun and am interested in most things.

I am looking to recruit a Personal Care Assistant with a positive outlook to join my long-standing team of PAs at the beginning of June 2024. An earlier start in May is possible.

 

 

PURPOSE OF JOB

 

To assist me in my daily routines and activities and accompany me to the events I wish to attend helping.

 

 

PLACE OF WORK

 

My home in Penylan

 

HOURS OF WORK

15 - 20 hours a week.

I can be flexible with days and times. Options can be discussed at interview.

 

RATE OF PAY

The pay is £11.90 per hour and £87.20 for an overnight stay.

TASKS INVOLVED

 

Assisting me on outings to activities of my choice and keeping me safe. It is a role requiring general support to assist me with daily life, including personal care.

I need help with eating, planning events, and sometimes require support on my computer.

 

A driving license is desirable.

  

 

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

I am looking for someone to support me who has a positive approach to life and good sense of humour. Previous care experience is not strictly necessary as training will be given but the job requires someone who is reliable, trustworthy, patient, caring, understanding of my disability, always able to be confidential and enjoys being part of a team.

 

ABOUT THE JOB

 

The job requires a National Insurance number to be submitted and a probation period will be necessary in the first instance.  Wages will be paid 4 weekly.  You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check and undertake a one or two-day manual handling course at no expense to you.
