Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

 

I am a young lady living in the St Melons area of Cardiff with a learning disability.

I am looking for a female PA who can support me with building my confidence and

Social interactions. I would like my PA to support me back out in the community and

Help me find groups to make social connections.

 

PURPOSE OF JOB

To provide me with support to build my confidence, find and participate in suitable

Social groups and make some social connections.

HOURS OF WORK

6 hours per week

 

4 hours during the week (Wednesday 9.30am-12.30pm - Learning Group,

Llanrumney Hub

 

2 hours during the week (Friday 11am-2pm – Confidence building using buses into town and supporting going to Hub/Jobs and college.

 

RATES OF PAY

£12.70 per hour

 

TASKS INVOLVED

 

• Support build my confidence and social interactions
• To be mindful of my learning difficulty and understanding

 

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

• Someone who has an understanding of Learning Disability
• Someone who is patient and kind and understands my needs
• Person centred approach
• Understanding of safeguarding
• Car driver desirable

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).

The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK.
