Part-Time Personal Assistant

 

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

 

I am a 73-year-old woman living in the Efail Isaf area with my husband. I am a fit and active woman who enjoys doing all sorts of different craft activities, gardening, walking and anything to do with nature. I am also a very social person who is very polite and enjoys having good conversations.

 

I especially enjoy craft activities and would like to be able to do this more often and even have items around the house that I have made/painted myself.

 

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 

I am looking for a PA to provide me with stimulation and to enable me to take part in activities I enjoy, whether at home or out in the community. The PA will also provide my husband with respite as he is my main carer.

 

RATE(S) OF PAY

 

£14.50 per hour plus 40p per mile where applicable.

 

 

HOURS OF WORK

 

8 hours per week available which will be used on flexible days but mainly in the mornings/afternoons.

 

I currently cannot do Monday morning or Thursday morning but flexible around this.

 

TASKS CAN INCLUDE

 

  • Taking me out into the community to take part in activities that will provide me with stimulation.
  • Providing me with good company and engaging in conversation with me.
  • Using initiative to think of new things we can do or new places we can visit.
  • House sits when not going out but still ensuring these sessions provide stimulation and undertaking an activity.
  • Supervising me and ensuring I am safe at all times.
  • Support with ensuring I am clean after going to the toilet.
  • Changing me in case of any accidents, these are infrequent but the PA needs to be comfortable to do this just in case.

 

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

 

  • A car driver with business class insurance.
  • An outgoing and social person.
  • A caring person who has an interest in care work.
  • A proactive person who will not rely on being asked to do things.
  • A non-smoker.

 

 

ABOUT THE JOB

 

This position is subject to satisfactory references to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.

Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.

Wages will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
