Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I have recently finished my undergraduate free in primary education where I have been able to gain significant experience of working with children in a number of settings. I have also been working as a full time teaching assistant in a local school for the last two years. Whereby I have worked closely with numerous children under Individual Development plans.
What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): - knowledge about their needs - patience - understanding of the needs and requirements - kind and caring - non judgmental - friendly and approachable
How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): Through my training at a primary school I have been able to develop my skills in all areas of caring and communicating with children with disabilities and extra needs. I have significant experience in carrying out children’s personal care and many of the children I have worked with have had a personal care plan. I am also 21 therefore I feel as though I am approachable to children and understand what activities they many be more interested in!
What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): The opportunity to be able to help and support children and young adults who want to achieve a sense of independence! As well the opportunity to use my knowledge and skills in this field.
