I have also worked with a man in Llanharry who is paralysed( due to an asthma attack)and is in a wheelchair.He also has a visual impairment. I am currently working as an activities coordinator in a care home working with people with different needs, we have a lady within the home who has Parkinson’s.
What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I think the most important quality to have is patience. The ability to emphasise, to be kind and friendly.
How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I always think it’s best to encourage someone to do something themselves if they can, as it promotes dignity and respect.
What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): I like helping people and enjoy being in a care role.
What are your hobbies/interests?: I like to go walking, I like to read, watch films and series.Also like to play board games such as chess and monopoly.
