Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I am currently employed by Gofal Cymru Care as a assistant behaviour practitioner, this involves working closely with service users with challenging behaviour. I also deliver training such as PBS, and active support. I am also currently employed on a relief contract with Dewis for a young lady with autism and support in taking her to her activities such as the gym and out for food.
What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): Active support, doing everything with the person and not for the person. It is important that you provide the person with the best quality of life you are able too, and reduce all barriers and obstacles for anything they would like to do.
How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I have a good knowledge of working with a range of complex service users, I have completed all training such as mental health, safeguarding. I am also currently completing my level 3 health and social. I am a bubbly person who just wants the best for the peoples I work with, I will go above and beyond to make sure all needs are met.
What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): I want to help someone else’s life improve and give them a better quality of life where I can.
What are your hobbies/interests?: I enjoy a range of things, I like goinb to the gym, going to car shows, going for drives and I’m really up for anything!
