JOB DESCRIPTION

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I’m a 61 year old man living in the Miskin, Pontyclun area, I have Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. I’m looking for a personal assistant to assist me with trips out shopping, to the cinema, going to Cardiff, Porthcawl and to museums. I support Cardiff City Football Club.

PURPOSE OF JOB

PA to accompany and support me to the things I like to do and help me maintain my independence. PA must have a clean driver’s license and be willing to drive my adapted vehicle.

HOURS OF WORK

To cover my current Pa’s annual leave and sickness.

(They currently work 17 hours per week)

RATES OF PAY

meets NMW 

TASKS INVOLVED

• Help me maintain my independence
• Someone to take me out in the community
• Make sure I am safe
• Any other reasonable tasks

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

• Reliable/Punctual
• Patient/Outgoing
• Someone who shares similar interests
• Must be a driver.

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
