Please read the Job Description carefully before providing information in this Section of the Application Form. Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job

I have a vast amount of experience in the healthcare profession, my first ever job was working as a home care assistant, I feel I could use my skills gained there to make sure I do my job to the best of my ability. I also currently volunteer with the Welsh ambulance service attending 999 calls, whilst doing this I have had to learn to work well under pressure, be able to think on my feet and I've also needed to overcome any barriers and I feel these are all transferable skills

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person?

I think being compassionate and patient is a key attribute whilst working with disabled people. I also believe that being a good listener and the ability to overcome obstacles is a must. Great time keeping skills and being able to work to deadlines is important also.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person?

I believe I can contribute towards the care and independence of a disable person because I have spent the past ten year looking after my disabled mum whilst making sure she is still able to live independently. Due to my great communication skills and be able to adapt to any situation I would be able to assist as much or as little as person needs whilst maintaining dignity and respect.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you?

The thing that appeals to me about this job is the ability to help others and improve others quality of life. I believe this job is a very rewarding job to and to know you can make a difference to someone else is great.

What are your hobbies/interests?

I have two horses so alot of my time is spent caring for these and competing in competitions . I also volunteer for the Welsh ambulance service attending 999 calls to start life support in a cardiac arrest situation
