I then worked for 2 years as an Employment Support Worker, helping vulnerable adults gain confidence and access work opportunities. These roles gave me valuable experience in care, communication, and support, which I believe are a great fit for this job.
What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I believe the most important qualities are patience, empathy, and good communication. It’s essential to respect the individual’s independence and choices while offering the right support. Being reliable, trustworthy, and having a flexible approach also helps build a strong, supportive relationship. Every person is different, so being understanding and adaptable is key.
How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I can contribute by providing consistent, respectful support tailored to the individual’s needs and preferences. I always listen carefully and follow their choices, making sure they feel in control and treated with dignity. My experience has taught me how to offer the right support while building trust and promoting comfort and confidence.
What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): I enjoy helping others and making a positive difference in someone’s daily life. Personal Assistant work appeals to me because it’s about building trust, providing support, and improving someone’s quality of life. I find it rewarding to support someone in a way that respects their dignity, choices, and individuality.
What are your hobbies/interests? (required): I enjoy spending quality time with my family and my dog, especially going on relaxing walks together. I also like swimming, which helps me stay active and refreshed.
