🏴 Welsh Word/Phrase Wednesday 🏴

Starting Wednesday, 29th October 2025, we’re proud to launch Welsh Phrase of the Week.

As a Welsh organisation, celebrating and using the Welsh language is important to us. Many of our colleagues already speak Welsh, and the rest of us are keen to learn and join in.

Each Wednesday, we’ll share a Welsh word or phrase, its meaning, pronunciation, and how it can be used in everyday conversation. It’s a simple and fun way for us all to build our Welsh vocabulary together.

Let’s enjoy learning a little more Cymraeg — one word at a time 💬✨

🟡 Our first word

Word: Dewis
Pronunciation: Deh-wiss
Meaning: Choice

We’re starting with the most important word of all — our name.
At Dewis, we believe disabled people should have choice and control over who provides their care and support. This word perfectly reflects our values of empowerment, independence, and respect.
