Personal Assistant

 

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

 

7 year old boy with ASD living in the Ely area of Cardiff. He is completely non-verbal and so we have begun to use Makaton with him. He is still in nappies and has an oral fixation (but not Pica). He is a very happy little boy who loves to give cwtches and be cwtched! He loves being at the park and the swings are his absolute favourite! I prepare all his meals due to his diet and food sensory issues - he likes you to hold the bowl for him but will happily feed himself. 

PURPOSE OF JOB

Support at home. Taking out and accessing suitable activities.

To ensure safety at all times.

HOURS OF WORK

 

6 hours per week during term time and

8 hours during school holidays

RATES OF PAY

£10.42 per hour

 

TASKS INVOLVED

 

• Keeping me Safe at all Times 

 

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

Someone who has knowledge of ASD would be preferred but not essential.

• Someone who is patient and understanding.
• Someone who is flexible, reliable and trustworthy
• Car driver with own vehicle preferred

 

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).

The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK.
