A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

 

I am a young boy living in Rumney, Cardiff; who is looking to employ a personal care assistant to support me at home and within my local community.

 

I have ASD, therefore I do have some complex needs which can be complex; I am not verbal however, can make my needs known.  I find difficulty with some noises and being around too many people .I am quite active and love climbing, such as climbing walls and riding a bike as well as swimming. I get anxious about meeting new people and take a while to get to know someone, to feel relaxed and safe in their company.

 

If these are activities that a personal care assistant is able to interact with me, this would be a big bonus for me!

 

 

PURPOSE OF JOB

·        To keep me safe and calm.

·        Assist and support me within the local community to access the activities I enjoy.

 

PLACE OF WORK

 

In my home and in the local community.

 

HOURS OF WORK

 3 hours a week term time

 

RATE OF PAY

£12.45 per hour.

TASKS INVOLVED

 

·        Support to access the community

·        Support in travelling to and from activities, therefore, a driver with access to a car would be advantageous.

·        Support and assist with personal care to access the toilet.

·        Someone with experience of additional needs and ASD would be advantageous.

·        Attend any training courses to have better understanding of ASD.

ABOUT THE JOB

 

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid 4 weekly on return of a payslip provided by Dewis Centre for Independent Living.  You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
