Part-time Personal Assistant

 

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

52 year old lady living in Rumney, Cardiff requires a personal assistant to support her with day to day tasks.

 

She has multiple physical problems and limited mobility.  She can walk short distances with the aid of a Zimmer frame but is unable to stand for long periods and has an electric wheelchair she can use outside.

 

Despite the difficulties she may face, she is motivated to be as independent as possible and live life to the fullest.  She is sociable and loves going out with her friends, spending time with her granddaughter and doing voluntary work.

HOURS OF WORK

 

*More than one PA will be required as its 7 days a week care

 

Morning- 1 hour around 9am, 7 days a week

Lunch time- 1.25 hour around 12pm, 7 days a week

Teatime call- 30 minutes around 5pm/6pm, 7 days a week.

Domestic call- 3 hours p/w

Total- 22.25 hour’s p/w

RATES OF PAY

£11.20 per hour

TASKS INVOLVED

  • Morning- support with personal care e.g showering although she can do most of this herself she will need a carer there to ensure her safety.
  • Support with meal prep at lunchtime and a light meal at teatime.
  • She has had a few falls in the past so it’s important to ensure her safety at all times.
  • Domestic call- cleaning, hoovering, occasionally changing the bedding.

  • Understanding of confidentiality and privacy
  • Trustworthy and efficient
  • Car driver isn’t essential, lady can drive her mobility car
  • Patient and understanding
  • Confident person who is able to use own initiative

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
