JOB DESCRIPTION

Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

 

Elderly lady living in Whitchurch, Cardiff requires a personal assistant to support her out in the community.

 

She lives alone and enjoys going out to social groups, coffee shops and doing a bit of shopping.

 

Her mobility has greatly reduced as she has been ill for a long time.  She is working on building up her strength and uses a rollator or a wheelchair out in the community if needed.  She likes to be active and is determined to remain as independent as possible.

 

PURPOSE OF JOB

To support out in the community.

 

HOURS OF WORK

 

2 x 2 hours, flexible days and times, preferably mornings but this can be discussed.

 

4 hours p/w total

 

RATE OF PAY

 

£12.70 per hour

 

TASKS INVOLVED

• Support out in the community to places such as social groups, coffee mornings, shopping and meals out.

 

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

• Reliable, committed and punctual
• Understanding of confidentiality and privacy
• Trustworthy and efficient
• Someone who is able to take own initiative
• Car driver with own car is essential
• Manual handling desirable (this can be arranged through Dewis).

  

ABOUT THE JOB

 

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A probation period will be necessary in the first instance.  Wages will be paid 4 weekly.  You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
