What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I believe empathy and compassion are integral to a personal assistant role as well as respect and patience.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I believe I can contribute to the needs and independence of a disabled person by taking a person-centred approach. This means listening to the individual, understanding their preferences, and supporting them in ways that promote choice and control over their own life. I would encourage independence by supporting the person to do as much as they can for themselves, rather than taking over tasks, while still ensuring their safety and wellbeing. I understand that independence looks different for everyone, so I would adapt my support to each person’s abilities and goals. I also value clear communication, respect, and dignity, and I would work to build trust so the person feels supported, empowered, and included.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): I really enjoy supporting people and making sure they are able to live as happily and freely as possible. I understand the importance of care and respect within these positions and pride myself on being able to provide this. I believe everyone deserves to be happy and have the best support possible, it is one of the most important things to me.

What are your hobbies/interests? (required): I enjoy going to the gym, spending time with my friends and cooking.
