JOB DESCRIPTION

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 20 year old lad and live in the Llanharry area with my family. I am looking for a Personal Assistant who can accompany me on activities outside the home to help me socialise. I am currently attending a group, which promotes lighting sound and music; this is something I am interested in. My parents describe me as very talkative and always joking around with a good sense of humour.

PURPOSE OF JOB

My parents are looking for a Personal Assistant to help develop my social skills and promote my independence and self-confidence.

PLACE OF WORK

In and around the local area

HOURS OF WORK

Total of 6 hours a week

 days per week 4pm-7pm

RATE OF PAY

£12.00 per hour plus mileage where applicable

TASKS INVOLVED

• Supervising my behaviour when we are out
• Helping me develop my social skills
• Encouraging me to be more independent
• Keeping me safe and helping me make good decisions
• Going to the cinema
• Going to McDonald’s
• Playing in the arcades with me
• Attending local groups that I might like

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

• Someone who can drive and has access to own car
• Someone with similar interests as me
• Someone with a good sense of humour
• Someone who can stick to strict boundaries with me
• Someone who is understanding

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living.  You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
