I have pulmonary hypertension with repeat pulmonary embolisms, Fibromyalgia and a previous spinal injury from 2008 that has prevented me continuing to work. Due to breathlessness, I require constant oxygen support even taking a small oxygen tank out with me whenever I leave the house. I am under a specialist Respiratory team at Royal United Hospital in Bath. I am prone to low moods. I describe myself as strongly independent, likeable, easy to talk to and easy-going. I’m also understanding. I enjoy watching all types of sports. PURPOSE OF THE JOB I am looking to employ someone to assist me in maintaining a routine, keep my home running smoothly. You will encourage me to remain independent as this is very important to me. HOURS OF WORK 3 hours per week No set day, as and when required. Typically all hours will be worked in one go. RATES OF PAY £16.25 per hour TASKS WILL INCLUDE Assisting me with a weekly food shop, either with me or without, depending how I feel Supporting me to access the community, this can be either popping out for a coffee or taking me to local appointment Assisting me to maintain my home, this will include cleaning and organising Ironing my clothes once a month TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Someone who can match my easy-going, understanding and easy to talk to nature You must be flexible, understanding that shifts, days and times may change with short notice Someone who can take direction and instruction when helping me to organise my flat Be able to get the job done A car owner/driver who is willing to use car for work purposes/take me on outings ABOUT THE JOB This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority. All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins. Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period. Wages will be paid on a four-weekly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
