JOB DESCRIPTION

Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 5 year old boy with Down’s Syndrome, a hearing impairment and some mobility issues. I live in Barry with my family. I am a happy child who enjoys soft play, swimming and rough-housing with my brother. I enjoy songs and singing nursery rhymes but apart from that I am non-verbal and use Makaton to communicate. I have reduced hearing and still wear nappies.

I have no sense of danger and am known to put things like stones and soil in my mouth. I don’t eat them, I just like to try the texture and taste of it so need to be discouraged from doing this. I can walk short distances but prefer having a hand to hold or I will bum-shuffle along.
