(required): I have been working within the retail industry for twenty years, I have strong communication skills and have been able to develop good relationships with customers who I see regularly. I have worked with vulnerable customers and have been able to assist them with their shopping by helping them pack their groceries, assisting them to find certain foods within the store, reading labels for customers etc. I am a kind, caring and bubbly person, who always strives to go above and beyond to help people. (required): I think it is important to be patient when working with an individual with a disability, and to understand the personal needs of that individual. I believe it is important to have kind and caring qualities, and have strong communication skills. How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I can contribute towards the needs and independence of a disabled individual by offering support to them with their everyday tasks, this could include attending a supermarket to assist them with their shopping if this is something they struggle to do by themselves, or providing support in the community within a social setting which may eventually allow the individual to attend social groups independently. I can also contribute towards the needs of an individual by assisting them in their own homes, for example with personal care needs, food, cleaning etc. What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): I am a kind and caring person who has three children who are older now. I have worked within retail for a number of years, but have always wanted to work with individuals that require extra support. I feel that I could have a positive impact on someones life and would like to be given the chance to do this. What are your hobbies/interests?: I am a very sociable person, I enjoy meeting friends for coffee, and spending time with my children. I have an interest in rollerskating which I will be starting soon as a hobby. I enjoy watching documentaries and comedy films. I also enjoy going out for a walk, especially on a nice sunny day.
