I have experience working within the care sector. I was a Domiciliary carer for almost a year, within that time I learnt to do personal care to the highest standard, help out with house work, assisted on shopping trips, as well as social calls which would consist of lovely chats, going out, having cups of tea or coffee with the client or just a general clean up.

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): 

I think it is important to be caring, understanding, have a good sense of humour and to be patient. It is also important to be easily adaptable and to understand that no two days are going to be the same.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): 

I think I will be able to contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person because I believe it is important to accept, I see the individual first, not the disability. It is important to allow them to be as independent as possible, even if this has to be taught later in life, you have to let them be their own person, only helping when they ask or if you can really see they are struggle, offer to help.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): 

I love helping helping in any way I can, being somebodies PA is a perfect chance to do this, I also love to explore different areas in each job. I love meeting new people, helping in anyway I can.

What are your hobbies/interests? (required): 

I enjoy going for walks, playing with the family dog and seeing friends. I love to socialise and meet new people.
