015VOG Personal Assistant Application Form Submission Male PA. Barry and the Vale. Positive and inclusive. Punctual and reliable, establishing clear boundaries while offering companionship and promoting full potential and quality of life. Available 25 hours 1pm to 6pm weekdays. Current DBS. Driver with own vehicle and business insurance. Supporting family and friends, and in various PA roles, I’ve come to very much enjoy the rewards of making positive differences in the daily lives of not only service users, but also their families, friends and other support networks, all with clearly defined boundaries. I enjoy helping people reach their full potential and achieve improved self-confidence. My natural empathy and experience help me promote inclusion, independence, and positive mental-wellbeing. Habitually punctual, reliable, tidy and organised, I’m comfortable with household chores and meal prep, all wrapped up in an appropriately personable, amiable and humourous personality. A previous career in admin makes email handling, appointment planning and paperwork second nature, and far less time-consuming and anxiety creating. I can also offer creative and practical solutions to re-organising to promote accessibility and leave more time for living and less time for coping. I’m a confident driver, manual and automatic, happy to drive individual’s vehicles or my own to support various lifestyles, and I have business insurance. Through my experience with ASD, I’ve learned to communicate clearly, understanding the challenge of interpretting non‑verbal cues, and working hard to remove ambiguity and misunderstandings. In a previous relationship I was the adult male role-model to a young man growing through his teens with ASD. Currently, one of my own grandchildren is in their teens and being assessed for ASD. I’ve supported elderly relatives and friends with limiting conditions including wheelchair dependence, Parkinsons and Alzheimers. I have also been in a long-term PA support position to a gentlement diagnosed with MS at an early age, who has been wheelchair and support dependent for a considerable number of years. I’ve also assisted a person with full visual impairment. Myself, I’m a 56‑year‑old Englishman who has lived in Barry since 2002 with my Barry‑born wife and our four children, one currently at university, two grown but still living at home, and one grown and flown with a family of her own. I’m physically fit, although I avoid heavy lifting where I can. I’m a tall 6'3" gentle giant, who people usually find very easy to get along with after a short period of getting to know one another. Outside of work, I enjoy walking and wildlife, and the lovely beaches and parks around our town and the wider Vale and Cardiff areas. I enjoy cinema, live music, theatre, and never one to miss out on ten-pin bowling. I’m always happy to share a coffee, a chat, or a bite to eat. Manage Cookie Preferences
