Also a Diploma in Community Health Studies. 5 GCE O levels including Maths and English.

Adopting a person centred approach and seeing the person as an individual with needs specific to them. Offering dignity and respect for individuals needs, values and ways of living. Being flexible and open minded.
How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I feel that my many years in supporting people with learning disabilities, many of whom also had physical needs, provide me with experience and skills to assist people in becoming more independent. I spent 10 years as a community learning disability nurse, supporting families as well as the individual client, and 20 years as staff nurse in a unit for people with complex needs including behaviours that challenge mainstream services. I am physically fit and hold a full driving licence, having my own car, and am happy to undertake household, personal and comunity tasks.
What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): I have reached a time in my life when I am about to retire from the NHS. I feel I still have much to offer in supporting others and am not ready to retire completely.
What are your hobbies/interests?: Art, using many different media. Music collecting and listening to, and playing guitar. Philately, books, and cooking.
