Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I have been self-employed in Bristol for 30yrs as a skin-care therapist which has involved extensive personal contact with clients of all ages. I am now relocated at home in Penarth with a desire to work part-time, preferably in an occupation helping and providing for others.
What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): Empathy, willingness and patience. Previous experience.
How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I have a sister Serena who is profoundly Downs, I am her Court of Protection appointed guardian and have responsibility for her care and welfare. This has given me an understanding of the needs of someone who is both physically and mentally disabled. I also cared for my elderly and needy mother, who had dementia, until her recent passing.
What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): My family experience of this has shown me how rewarding it can be to help those struggling to help themselves, and the opportunity to add something to their lives.
What are your hobbies/interests?: Music, dance, I was until moving from Bristol a member of a choir. Learning about alternate therapies. Walking and cycling
