I am currently attending the university of South Wales studying mental health nursing. During the first placement within the nursing course I have gained many skills including: Endurance, team-working, communication and listen skills as well as how to provide personal care (toileting and bathing/showering). I also assist with my niece who has autism that has taught myself the understanding of how healthcare-related situations may impact patients and family members. I believe my other strengths to include: being non-judgmental, open-minded, punctual and being a quick learner.What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I believe having experience and knowing the basic needs to assist with the individual such as having knowledge on personal care, having patience and to assist with promoting the individuals independence as much as possible.How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I believe I have the knowledge and experience to assist with the individuals independence.
