(required): I have years of experience as a P.A working with different people with different disabilities. I have worked with a number of people with autism and my youngest daughter who is currently six years old is autistic and nonverbal. What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I would say empathy, patience, positive, encouraging, reliable, respectful, observant and confidential. How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): It depends on the required needs of the person. I have experience helping different people with different needs, usually out of the house. Helping with confidence and independence with simple things like shopping or organising outings that are of interest including cinema visits, social outings and even going to boxing classes, which I have done and organising previously with other people. What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): I enjoy PA work because I like to help people. I have family who are also disabled, so helping people with various disabilities is of personal importance to me. What are your hobbies/interests? (required): I like music. I have played the guitar a d sang in a few bands. I like to workout as well. I have some experience with dabbling in martial arts including boxing, kickboxing, jiu-jitsu and MMA. I have some more obscure hobbies like gaming, from computer games to tabletop boardgames. Would you consider a casual position if you are unsuccessful with this job?
