Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I have extensive experience supporting individuals in education and community settings. As a Music Mentor and Freelance Music Project Assistant, I worked closely with young people, including those with additional needs, adapting my approach to suit their abilities. My role as a Teaching Assistant further developed my one-on-one support skills, while my administrative work at Public Health Wales and Dean Court Community Centre strengthened my organisational and communication abilities. These experiences have given me the patience, adaptability, and interpersonal skills necessary for a personal assistant role.

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): Patience, adaptability, and good communication are essential for understanding and responding to an individual’s needs. Empathy and respect ensure that support fosters independence rather than dependency. Reliability builds trust, while initiative helps anticipate challenges and find solutions. A successful PA balances providing assistance with empowering the person to remain in control of their own life.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I aim to provide practical support while encouraging independence and confidence. My experience working with individuals of varying needs has taught me how to adapt to different situations, ensuring support is both effective and respectful. My background in mentoring, teaching, and administration equips me to assist with both day-to-day tasks and long-term goals while maintaining a positive, patient, and person-centred approach.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): My experience in education and mentoring has shown me the impact of tailored, person-centred assistance, and I find fulfilment in adapting my skills to suit different needs. PA work combines practical problem-solving, emotional support, and relationship-building, all of which align with my strengths and values.

What are your hobbies/interests? (required): I am a musician, composer, and teacher, passionate about playing guitar and drums and leading a community guitar group in Cardiff. I also enjoy cooking plant-based whole-food meals, exploring creative ways to make nutritious dishes. Additionally, I have a keen interest in songwriting and lyricism, always striving to develop my creative expression.
