Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I have my level 2 health and social care. I went to college for a year to do this. I have worked in retail since 2021, so I’m used to working around the public and within a team. I also have been working as a PA to my older sister who has cerebral palsy since 2019 officially, but have grown up with her my whole life therefore have always been around disability.

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): To listen to the individual, communicating and understanding with their needs. Supporting the individual to carry out tasks and activities to the best of their ability. To have fun and experience new things.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I can help them to plan their activities and to discover new things to do by providing information. I would encourage them to initiate conversation to help them be independent.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): PA work appeals to me because I feel that everyone should be able to have equal opportunities even if that means having someone push them to help them with that. I enjoy PA work because it’s varied and everyday can be different. Being a PA to my sister shows me that I can make a difference and help the individual to do things that might seem impossible to others.

What are your hobbies/interests?: I enjoy music and festivals. I do a bit of baking which my family get to be the taste testers. Skiing has always been a sport that I love. I like animals, I have a cat and a dog. I also enjoy going on walks and seeing new things.
