Alongside this role I have also worked as a Youth Worker and PA providing restbite cover for young people and an elderly lady. For these roles I have undergone numerous training courses and gained invaluable experiences to enable me to provide assistance with whom ever I am working with to support them in a medical, social and emotional capacity. During my time working as a TA in a multi complex needs high school I have worked alongside young people with medical requirements involving medication as well as individuals who need emotional support. What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): To be a good reliable TA you need to have most importantly an understanding of whom you are working with needs and requirements, this is essential so that the best support can be provided. Take time to get to know them and listen to there individual needs. I consider myself to be an honest reliable and trustworthy individual who will always go above and beyond to support who I am working with. I enjoy working as part of a team but I can equally use my own initiative. I am sociable, adaptable and enthusiastic in my approach but likewise know how to adapt in ever changing conditions as circumstances allow. How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I feel I can offer a wide range of skills and experiences which I have gained over the years to enhance and improve the quality of care provided to someone who needs it. What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): What appeals to me about PA work is the opportunity to really get to know an individual. To work alongside them and help support them in their journey through life.What are your hobbies/interests? (required): I enjoy long walks with my dog. I attend a bootcamp style gym and yoga sessions four times a week. Cooking and entertaining at home. Providing a safe and happy home for my family.
