Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I am a PA to 2 clients at the moment with DEWIS. I have been in these posts for 2 years, and have gained a huge amount of experience in that time. One of these clients is moving to sheltered accommodation in December, so I will have hours available to assist another client from January.

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I feel you need to be calm and patient, and work with the clients wishes to provide the best possible use of the time we have together. I look to enrich their lives with experiences and a sense of safety, as I understand that the world can seem overwhelming, as I have mild autism myself. I am reliable and trustworthy, and turn up when required, which I know it is extremely important to keep to a schedule with minimal change.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I listen to the client and their carers/parents to really understand what they need and want. I am motivated to make the very best of the hours we have together.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): Being a PA has given me an enormous amount of satisfaction as I get to witness the impact I have on the clients quality of life, taking them out and about to engage with their hobbies such as the cinema or snooker, or introduce them to some interesting experiences, such as bird sanctuaries and coastal walks.

What are your hobbies/interests? (required): I enjoy the cinema, walking, playing tennis and quizzes.
