Worked collaboratively with families, health professionals, and care coordinators to ensure a safe, compassionate, and high-quality standard of care that enabled clients to maintain their wellbeing and remain independent within their homes. Clinical Conduct Technician - Celerion Ltd (Northern Ireland) My experience as a Clinical Conduct Technician at Celerion strengthened my ability to deliver safe, compassionate, and detail-oriented care. Working closely with clinical trial participants, I developed strong communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring individuals felt comfortable and informed during diagnostic testing. This role required accuracy in following medical protocols, record keeping, maintaining confidentiality, and monitoring participants’ wellbeing — all of which directly support my responsibilities as a care worker. It also enhanced my understanding of medication procedures, infection control, and patient safety, which I apply daily to provide high-quality, person-centred support to those living in the community. What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): Working as a personal assistant for a disabled person requires empathy, respect, and reliability. It’s important to support the individual’s independence and dignity while providing practical help with daily tasks. Good communication, patience, and flexibility ensure that their personal preferences and needs are always prioritised. A positive attitude, trustworthy nature and good sense of humour can also help build a strong, respectful relationship that promotes comfort, confidence, and wellbeing. How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I can contribute by supporting and empowering the individual to do as much as they can for themselves, increasing their independence in daily life. By assisting with tasks where needed, providing guidance, and encouraging participation in personal care, household activities, and community engagement, I can help a service user build confidence and self-reliance. My role would focus on enabling them to make choices, maintain control over their routines, and develop skills that promote autonomy and a higher quality of life. What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): What appeals to me about PA work is the opportunity to use my experience to help people live life to the fullest while supporting their independence. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life, learning from their experiences, and building meaningful relationships. Being able to make a positive difference in someone’s daily life, while helping them achieve their goals and maintain dignity, is both rewarding and motivating for me. What are your hobbies/interests? (required): In my free time, I enjoy a variety of hobbies and interests that keep me active and creative. I love cold water swimming, walking, and travelling, which allow me to explore new places and stay healthy.
