Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): For the last 5 or so years I had my own practice as an eating disorder recovery coach/therapist so I am a great communicator and have always been driven to help people be confident, independent and thrive. I am a great communicator and pride myself on being able to make people feel at ease quickly. Whilst I havent got any qualifications in BSL or Makaton I do have experience with basics of both. I initially started learning BSL as a teenager and then picked up some Makaton when I was working as a volunteer playworker during college and university. Enabling communication is very important as so learning more BSL and Makaton would obviously be something I would do in my own time to support communication as being able to communicate is such a vital part of working with any individual.

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I think it is important to be caring, thoughtful and to have a desire to build a relationship with the person you are working with.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I am a kind and caring person who has always worked in helping roles. Every individual is unique with different needs and abilities and I am able to meet people where they are.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): Its working 1-1 that really appeals to me, to be able to build a working relationship with someone long term so I can best support them.

What are your hobbies/interests? (required): In my own time, I enjoy singing and am part of a singing circle, spending time with my husband and children getting outside where we can and doing crafts and projects at home.

Would you consider a casual position if you are unsuccessful with this job? (required): Yes

Do you speak any other languages? if so what do you speak?  (required): French (did a French degree so was fluent but now B2 level), recently completed a 10-week Welsh Language course and plan to continue with the next level (currently A1 level)

What days/nights are you able to work, or prefer to work?  (required): Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday mornings (ideally 5-10 hours)

Please use the box below.: I have two children (2 and 4) who attend nursery on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning but would be able to extend these hours for a paying role with sufficient notice within the nursery opening hours. I wouldnt be able to do night/evening work.
