Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I am currently working as a SEN learning support assistant with children aged 6-17. This has given me hands on experience with children who struggle with ASD, ADHD and commonly have epilepsy. I am also a qualified swimming instructor. I spent a lot of my childhood and adolescence involved with a local swimming club and i still enjoy swimming for leisure.

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I think being empathetic and understanding is very important. Disabilities are individualised and no two people experience them in the same way. It is important to have a non-judgemental and accepting quality to make sure everyone feels comfortable and safe.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I am able to drive and I have a car so i can assist with transport to appointment, school and leisure activities. I am happy to cook, clean and assist in anything that needs to be done around the house.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): I am a people centred person and i would like to give my time to help someone during daily life. I have seen first hand how important PA work can help improve someone’s quality of life which is something i would also like to provide for a family.

What are your hobbies/interests? (required): I enjoy swimming, running and exercising. I also like trying out different restaurants as food/ nutrition is a interest of mine. I recently purchased a kindle so reading is another activity which i enjoy.
