Where did you hear about our PA vacancies? (required): Dewis CIL Website

I confirm that I have the right to work in the UK and am able to prove my eligibility status when required to do so. (required): Yes

Please read the Job Description carefully before providing information in this Section of the Application Form. Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I am a caring, reliable, and patient individual with experience in different fields, both in my professional and personal life. My employment history spans multiple sectors, including retail, customer service, and administrative roles, and through these roles, I have developed strong organisational and communication skills, which are essential when supporting others and managing a variety of tasks effectively. Throughout my personal life, I gained experience in supporting day-to-day tasks and routines, providing practical support and emotional assistance to ensure comfort, safety, and well-being. This has included maintaining routines, assisting with normal tasks, being attentive to individual needs, and adapting my support to promote dignity, independence, and choice at all times. This experience was gained through my personal caregiving throughout my undergrad studies, I cared for a family member and continued caring for her until early 2025. I am approachable and attentive, and have worked in some roles that require a caring nature. I aim to build positive and trusting relationships by being someone who listens carefully and provides calm, emotional and practical support where required. I take pride in being dependable and respectful, and I am committed to supporting individuals in ways that promote and reinforce dignity, independence, and well-being.
What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I believe the key qualities when working as a personal assistant for any individual with any disabilities are respect, great communicative skills, and reliability are very important. To be able to support them with flexibility and support them to maintain their independence and dignity, while being dependable, caring and attentive, is something I believe is standard when working as a personal assistant. A personal assistant’s attitude is also very key to their role, where maintaining confidentiality, empathy, kindness and respect at every turn of the role is imperative, in addition to maintaining professional boundaries to help build trust and ensure a person-centred approach when supporting them.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I can contribute by providing reliable and respectful support that promotes independence, rather than taking over. By listening carefully to the persons needs, preferences and their comfort level, I can encourage choice and adapt my support to their changing needs. I believe this will allow them to remain in control of their daily life, where I can be a means of support to their routines and well-being, while maintaining dignity, confidentiality and a calm, supportive approach at all times.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): Being able to be a positive means of support and care for someone, in hopes of making their daily life easier in some way. To be able to provide a means for someone being able to live their life with a bit more ease and support, however small my part may be in their life, is what I believe is appealing when working as a personal assistant.

What are your hobbies/interests? (required): I have a lot of interests in arts and crafts, such as painting, paper crafts, sewing, knitting, crocheting or wood crafts. I also enjoy reading, cooking and baking.
