I have over two years of experience working in hospitality, where I developed strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills in fast-paced environments. Alongside my studies and work experience, I also help care for my 85-year-old grandmother, whom I have spent most of my life with. This role has given me a strong sense of responsibility, patience, and empathy, as well as an understanding of the importance of reliability, trust, and respectful support. Balancing my academic commitments, work, and caring responsibilities has helped me become an organised individual What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): When working as a personal assistant with a disabled person, it is important to be respectful, patient, and reliable. Good communication skills are essential in order to understand individual needs, preferences, and routines. Trustworthiness and professionalism are also key, as the role involves supporting someone’s independence while maintaining their dignity and privacy. Being flexible, attentive, and willing to learn helps ensure the best possible support and a positive working relationship. How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I can contribute to the needs and independence of a disabled person by providing reliable and respectful support while encouraging them to do as much as they can for themselves.
