Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I have worked with children of various ages in different settings. I have been a nanny for children and I have worked with children at after-school clubs and holiday clubs. I currently support a 10 year old girl with autism, by either taking her swimming, or taking her to Barry Island, where she can swim in the sea.

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I think that the qualities of patience, understanding, calmness and of respecting a child’s right to confidentiality are important in this role. I would always treat the child with dignity and would ensure that their needs are being met.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I think that I would support the child to attend any activities, which would help them to have a good quality of life.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): I like to be able to support children, so that they have the opportunity to meet others and enjoy whatever they like doing. I also feel that it is very worthwhile when I can make a difference to a child’s life.

What are your hobbies/interests? (required): I enjoy going to the cinema, walking in parks and in the countryside, as well as reading and watching the TV with my husband. I like going swimming and going out for meals with friends and family.
