Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): based from my previous work experiences i would say the set of skills that would help with this position would be my excellent customer service skills this links to my communication skills, patience and the ability to stay calm in any type of stressful situation. I adapt very well and act according to situations. also I have done some voluntary work in care, I assisted an individual who suffered with Alzheimers disease who became dependent. where I undertook all aspects of personal care, washing, dressing etc. I was responsible for looking after people who need help due to disability, illness or frailty. I Cooked meals for the patient I administered medication and provided emotional support. I would encourage the individual to engage in social activities in their routine. We would go food shopping, see family, do some art-based activities and some reminiscence work which would talk about the individuals life experience and memorable stories by using photos, videos or any sort of sentimental item to encourage their memory and brain activity.

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): Id say a few of my key qualities are being respectful, sensitive and empathic. Its important to have good listening and communication skills. also having a good level of understanding of the individual needs. Id also say assisting with utmost confidence and respect. I have a great level of attention of detail and problem solving skills.


How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I believe with my set of skills and qualities Id be able to contribute by encouraging and providing choices, engaging with social activities and setting challenges and goals with them. Id also say that paying attention to any type of movement/sign as this may indicate that they may need some assistance.


What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): the idea of being able of being a part of making a difference of someones life, It may be challenging however being able to support and encouraging maintaining independence.


What are your hobbies/interests?: I'm interested in most sports, especially basketball and football. I like socialising and spending time with family. I also enjoy community participation, cooking, reading and going to the cinema.
