Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): Previously I have worked as a cook and cook all meals from scratch at home. I have had experience with my nan who had early signs of dementia and struggled with leaving the house. 

 
What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I think patience and understanding, as well as listening, are all key qualities to have when working as a personal assistant. 

 
How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I am a caring individual and I thrive on helping and serving people. I am particularly empathetic towards other people and encourage independence where I can. I ensure that I am reliable by following routine and believe communication is paramount in creating a safe and comfortable environment. 

 
What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): I have recently moved to Cardiff and have worked in catering and retail mainly, however, I want to do something that means something and not just to/for myself. I feel being a PA to someone who is looking for care and help or just the company to be more rewarding than what I have previously done. Although catering-cooking and retail-customer service are transferable skills, I feel, when looking at being a PA for someone. 

 
What are your hobbies/interests?: I like to craft and make things, I sew dresses and blankets, and am crocheting a cardigan at the moment. I also dabble in other craft projects. I like walks on the beach and in woodland but enjoy a walk around the local park as well. I am a keen reader and like non-fiction, although I am a huge Harry Potter fan so enjoy other books too.

I do however have experience caring for my nan who had the onset of dementia. I have also raised 2 now-adult children and have run and managed our family home for 20 years. I have an 8-year-old daughter this, however, would not prevent me from covering or swapping shifts, as both my adult children live at home and help out, but I would need a little notice. I drive and have my own car, I have held my licence for over 20 years with no penalty points.
